I have an HP Officejet 4510 g510n-z and strangely enough, resetting the printer solved the issue I had with continual 'Hold for Authentication' messages I had with sharing a Windows printer (via built in Windows 10 圆4 printer sharing) and attempting to print with OS X Mojave.The symptom was that even after authenticating with the local admin account (which is a account, with my e-mail address/password) I would continually be prompted for the login/the local print status in Mojave would yield 'Hold for Authentication'. But the Java download is only for earlier OS X versions up. A window pops up advising me that I need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. I recently upgraded my iMac to OS-X “Sierra.” With the new Apple operating system upgrade I can no longer open CS5. Operating system requirements: For Java 7 and later versions, you will need an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X version 10.7.3 (Lion) and above.

Java 7 and 8 are officially supported in OS X 10.12 Sierra and if you don’t need Java 6, we highly recommend updating to Java 7 or 8 because Java is notoriously insecure and older versions are particularly vulnerable to attack and bugs.

Our advice is don’t rely using Java 6 on Sierra until Apple clarify whether it will be officially supported.
